Bio-Engineering Consortium

This grant funds a consortium of biomedical and bioengineering researchers to develop complementary biology and instrumentation for drug discovery in signaling systems, particularly related to G-protein coupled, seven transmembrane receptors (&TMR), and high throughput (HT) flow cytometry. These types of signaling pathways are a major target for drug discovery in cancer and other diseases and represent an important element of the Signal Transduction and Cell Adhesion Program in CRF. Moreover, the development of flow cytometry within the CRTC represents an important use of the instrumentation within the Cytometry core facility and will provide new capabilities for CRF investigators in basic, translational, and clinical research.
